If people want to comment on my journal entries- that's fine. That's great, even- I by all means encourage people to comment on my entries. It could have absolutely nothing to do with what I posted, and that's fine too.
BUT- Don't bring any anonymous comment wars to my journal. On the previous entry, I don't know who made the first comment, but I know beyond a shadow of a doubt who it was NOT. I know who made the second. It's all been deleted. Don't use my journal to insult people- there are other places that you can do that if you want to. Don't use my journal to call MY friends trash. Just drop it. It's childish and it's gone on long enough. I know that Darren hasn't been responding to ANY of this since the beginning. I know that Woda's dropped it too. So, to WHOEVER left the comments- follow their lead. It's not worth it!

Smell her hair. Pick her up and pretend you're going to throw her in the pool... she'll scream and fight but secretly, she'll love it. Hold her hand while you talk. Hold her hand while you drive. Just hold her hand. Tell her she looks pretty. Look in her eyes when you talk to her. Protect her. Tell her stupid jokes. Tickle her, even if she says stop. Slow dance with her. When she starts swearing at you, tell her you love her. Let her fall asleep in your arms. Get her mad, and then kiss her. Tease her. Let her tease you back. Stay up with her when she's sick. Kiss her forehead. Let her wear your clothes. Go slow. Don't push anything. Kiss her in the rain... and when you fall in love with her- tell her.

Yesterday was not the best of days. It didn't start out too badly- I worked 8 - 4:30 like usual, and since it was supposed to be mine and Alisha's last day, the girls in the office bought us pizza for lunch. I say that it was SUPPOSED to be my last day because Nichelle, my boss, decided when I told her that I had Fridays off that she wanted me to stick around. I hadn't finished some of the projects I'd started for her, so she offered to just let me work Fridays. I jumped right on that, since that means I can quit at Phone-a-Thon! Don't get me wrong, I loved the people there, but I am just not a telephone person, plus I didn't like giving up my evenings. The hours are less but the pay is more, so it all worked out. After work, Nick was in Charleston so he came over. My mom taught him how to make taco soup, since it's easy and quick, and then we watched Napoleon Dynamite till dinner was ready. I thought that movie was funny at first, but now it's kind of getting old. We went ice skating too, and we met Nathan, Sam, and Michelle up there. I hadn't been skating in forever, so it was a lot of fun. Fun until I went outside afterwards, anyways... Whenever we go skating, I always leave my purse in my trunk and just my keys, cell phone, and some money in my skate bag. I always assumed it would be safer in my trunk rather than me trying to skate AND keep an eye on my purse. Well, after we were done, Nathan walked me to my car and I opened my trunk to get my purse out. It wasn't where I remembered putting it, but I thought it had just gotten moved around when I was digging out my skates. We looked through my whole trunk though, and couldn't find it, so I thought I must be going crazy and had left it in the seat. Well, when I went to unlock my door, it wouldn't unlock for some reason, and then I noticed that my window was laying in my front seat. Yep, someone broke my window out and unlocked my trunk to get to my purse. They also went through my duffel bag in the backseat, but didn't take anything from that, and that is what surprised me. Sitting right next to my bag was my $250 CD player that was waiting to be put back in my car. Did they touch that? NO. Sitting in the floor of the front seat was my digital camera. Did that touch that either? NO. Whoever robbed my car was completely stupid. I say this because they got a purse that had no money (maybe $2 in change, if that), no checks (I had used my last one and hadn't ordered any more), a debit card that had no money and therefore wouldn't work anyways, a Marshall ID that hasn't been activated as a debit card, and a cell phone that only works in Huntington. Still, I was highly pissed and pretty upset about the whole thing, since that would mean cancelling my checking account, cancelling my gas card (which we did end up doing), getting a new license and ID, getting my room re-keyed, and all kinds of fun stuff. I also had almost a semester's worth of pictures in there, of me and Friend and Chadd and Zach. There was a video camera, and they think they got a good shot of the guy (he broke into 2 other cars besides mine all in the same evening). The good news is that just as I was heading out the door to go to the bank today, the phone rang and it was two ladies who had found my cell phone along the side of the road at the Virginia Street exit ramp. They were nice enough to stop, pick it up, find the owner, and then meet me to give it back. They told me where they had found it, and I went over there to see if I could find any more of my stuff. Sure enough, there were my pictures and bank receipts scattered all over the wet cement in puddles. I gathered those up, then started walking up and down the street looking for more stuff. I was very surprised, but I actually did find my wallet and everything in it! The only things I couldn't find were my inhaler, my Marshall ID, and the actual purse, so I was pretty happy about that. Still, it's a pain now because someone has to take me to school tomorrow and then come get me Monday when my car window is fixed. We tried our best to get it in somewhere today, but Monday was the earliest. Since I don't have to pay any sort of deductible for the insurance, I'm still pretty thankful for that. I just hope that the tint on my windows can be put back on Monday too.

"She's Got it All" -Kenny Chesney |
] |
Well, since I haven't had a real update in forever, I'll try to do a quick recap....
The weekend before Thanksgiving we had initiation for Phi Mu, which went well. I'm so excited to have those girls as my new sisters! Congrats to Stephanie, Lauren, Cara, Brooke, and Courtney! The next night was elections, and I was elected president. I'm super excited about that, but I'm also nervous, because I worry that I won't do a good job or something. Oh well, just one day at a time :)
Thanksgiving break started the next week, which was pretty nice. I enjoyed not having classes, but I missed my sister like crazy while I was home. She went on a cruise for Thanksgiving with Emily and her parents (lucky!), so it was just me and the parents for most of break. I had fun, but Leah always can make me laugh. I didn't do much besides just sit around, relax, and do some shopping. My grandparents came down for Thanksgiving dinner, and then the next day I got to see Rebekah! She came in to visit and go to the Michael W. Smith concert, so she and Casey came to Charleston for the day. We sat at Steph's new house (which looks AMAZING, by the way Steph!) and talked and laughed, then went to the China Buffett for lunch and laughed some more. It definitely didn't feel like I hadn't seen her in a year and half! Next we need to go visit her in Michigan, because it can't be that long till we all see each other again. That evening I went to dinner at Applebees with Shea, and then Saturday I didn't do much of anything but pick Leah up from the airport. Sunday I went to church at Oakwood, where Stephanie and Anna were leading worship (and did a great job!) Katie and Scott and Rebekah, Casey, and their friend Amanda all came too, so it was a great time. I love those girls!
Hmm...the next week, was dead week and just pretty much regular classes, so nothing too exciting. Friday night Friend and I went to the Lambda Chi house since some of my friends are new members, and one, Josh, is the social chair. It was definitely a funny evening- it was in the basement, and when we got there it was a lot more crowded than I had expected! Brian, one of the guys I knew, came over to me when we got there and it was pretty obvious that he was already gone. Since he was kind of all over every girl there, including me at that point, I spotted Alex (my lil bro in Sig Tau) and Aaron-Michael, so I went to go talk to them. Of course, Aaron-Michael greeted me with "Hey, Crabby!" (I taught them the song Friend taught me about abstinence, where the last line is "We don't want no STD's...like crabs! like crabs!", so that's where that came from). Anyways, we talked with them for a while, Chadd called and came over, and Brian kept coming back, so Jeffrey was my "rent-a-date" for the evening. It really got ridiculous then- Brian got in a fight with someone and he kept calling Chadd "Zach" for some reason. Since he kept coming over to us, I think there were several guys there we knew who were about to come kick some butt if we needed them to, which is nice to know. Anyways, Friend left and I DD'd a couple of people home, then went home myself.
The next day I went to the mall and studied some, then went to the basketball game with Chadd and Joe and Mitchell. We lost by like 3 or 4 points, which was really heartbreaking. Oh well...I don't even like basketball that much! Give me football any day...speaking of which, I really wish I could go to Ft. Worth for the bowl game. Unfortunately I don't have the money and I have to work. Boo for working.
This week hasn't been too horrible...finals are finals, and I didn't have any comprehensive ones, thank goodness. Sunday night was our first exec meeting, which I was nervous about since I've never held one as president before. Everyone was very organized and I think we're off to a good start, or at least I hope so. Jody, one of my favorite alums, was there, and she's going to be on the alumnae advisory council, which I'm very happy about! We got started planning a retreat for January, and then in February we'll have Leadership conference, which I am VERY excited about. Last night the 4th floor girls had our annual end-of-the-semester dinner at O'Charleys, where we discovered something- no matter what, we always do the tilt-and-smile thing for the cameras. I think it comes from being in a sorority, since we take pictures at EVERYTHING lol.
I think that's about everything...I'm leaving tomorrow to go home, and I'm really sad to have to be leaving some people here. But I'll be back to visit over the break (if going back to Workers' Comp over break doesn't make me want to kill myself first!), and I know I'll enjoy being home and seeing everyone there ;)
I hope everyone had or has a good finals week!
